Jorge Luis Ferreyra-Basso – a lifetime with General Motors
Ferreyra-Basso was born in Buenos Aires in 1943. He began designing cars at the beginning of the 60’s at Baufer, based in , a workshop that designed and built the bodywork for racing cars. The car that gave him fame was the Argentinean “Chevytú” that was exported to by Froilán Gonzalez and was driven by Jorge Cupeiro. Ferreyra-Basso stated “I re-designed the Chevytú” in accordance with the regulations, modifying various parts. This made me famous; my first interview, ever, was in 1964 with José Oneto from the Clarín Newspaper”.
